General Manager
Stuart Hind, our Managing Director, has more than 25 years of experience in the Aviation industry. He has held a senior management position with Menzies Aviation for the past 3 years. Prior to that, Stuart worked in leading international companies like DHL and TNT. He has worked in the Middle East for over 20 years and has a proven track record in aviation, logistics, transportation, warehousing, supply chain, freight forwarding and manufacturing. Stuart has worked extensively in international, multi-cultural environments and has demonstrated exceptional performance in achieving revenue, profit and business growth objectives within start-ups, turnarounds and rapid change environments. He is highly skilled in building relationships with upper-level decision makers, seizing control of critical problem areas and delivering on customer commitments.
Suresh Pillai
Station Manager
Suresh started his aviation career with Lufthansa German Airlines in New Delhi in 1992. Rising to the level of Station Manager in 2004, he was chosen to set up Lufthansa’s new station in Hyderabad, India. In 2010, Suresh went on to join one of Menzies Aviation’s other joint ventures as General Manager of Menzies Bobba Ground Handling Services in Hyderabad. A year later, he was promoted to the role of CEO and took up the reins of the business. Under his leadership, Menzies Bobba succeeded in getting registered under ISAGO in 2012, making it the first private ground handling company to achieve ISAGO registration in India. Suresh joined us in 2019 as Head of Risk. He held overall responsibility for Health & Safety, Security, Environment and Compliance of the business. Suresh is now the Station Manager.
Dharan Muthulingam
Ramp Manager
Dharan brought with him over 19 years of Middle East and Asia cargo operations experience when he joined our operation in Iraq in December 2019. Dharan has an MBA in Operations and Logistics and has demonstrated a results-driven approach throughout his cargo and supply chain management career. He is particularly good at establishing strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders and has successfully led multi-cultural teams managing major cargo hubs and multimodal defence logistics projects across Middle east and East European gateways. He has successfully devised and implemented processes, procedures and strategies to drive excellence for leading freight forwarders, manpower service providers and ground handling agents in the region. Before joining MASIL, Dharan had extensive airline, ground handling, cargo and resource management experience having worked with National Air Cargo, Dulsco, Qatar Aviation Services and Sri Lankan Airlines. Dharan takes great pride in having been awarded the title “Safest Manager” at Dubai.
Anand Kasi
Operations Manager
Anand has built up over 20 years in the aviation industry, the last 14 of which have been with Menzies. During the course of his career, he has risen to become Head of the Department for Ramp operations in 2012 and, within two years, to Operational Standards and Compliance Manager. In this role he led various departments including Health, Safety, Security & Compliance, Ramp and Operations. Since 2019, Anand has been in Baghdad leading the Operations Department. He brings with him an exceptional breadth of experience across all ground handling operations.
Selvaraj Sivaraman
GSE Manager – MEA
Selvaraj is a graduate engineer and a certified maintenance and reliability professional from SMRP, USA, with an MBA specializing in airline and airport management. He joined Menzies at the beginning of January 2020 as GSE Maintenance Manager with the task of enhancing the maintenance and reliability of ground support equipment at Baghdad International Airport during startup operations, where he led the department from conceptualization to implementation to the exceptional standards for which Menzies Aviation is famous. He brought with him over 15 years of vast experience in various engineering fields such as equipment maintenance, planning, product design, manufacturing, and process improvement, working with the world’s leading companies, including Siemens, Larsen & Toubro, Komatsu, and air services provider Dnata. Selvaraj was promoted as GSE Manager – Middle East & Asia in 2024, where he started to take on more responsibility for the GSE performance of the wider MEA regional stations.
Martin Niven
Training & Risk Manager
Martin’s career started at the UK’s Gatwick Airport in 1988 when was hired for a summer job as a baggage handler for a company called Servisair (now part of Swissport). From that point, he was hooked and rose from being a loader to become a driver and ultimately a GSE Trainer. Martin briefly left the industry but being airside was “in his blood” and he came to work for Menzies Aviation at Manchester Airport in 2005 where he joined the Training, Safety and Security team responsible for around 700 people. Three years on, Martin had risen to become Training and Compliance Manager, a role he combined Safety & Security Manager. Looking for a new challenge in 2016, Martin landed a new job in Afghanistan as Security Manager at Kabul and Mazar airports, which broadened his horizons and his skillset. On his return to the UK, Martin was told about Menzies’ new operation in Iraq and was stepped up for the role of Training Manager. Throughout his career, Martin has prided himself on his ability to work with people from a wide spectrum of backgrounds and cultures so Iraq is a great place to demonstrate these skills. Training a diverse, multilingual team to work together expertly, seamlessly and professionally is critical to our success, so Martin has a key role to play for us in Baghdad.
Zaid Tareq
IT Manager
Zaid is a professional with over 12 years experience focused on leading IT teams. He has worked with AL-Mahara Trading FZCO and American University of Iraq-Baghdad, delivering IT technologies and infrastructure services, IT management and Administration, IT Operation and logistics. These technologies deployments have covered public and private sectors in Iraq. He has experience in design and implementing Network, Datacenter, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Storage & Backup solutions, as well as Administrator of (Office 365, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, On-Premise Active Directory, Dell EMC Storage, VMWare and Veeam). He has led multiple projects in Iraq by providing and implementing IT enterprise solutions.
Lora Taan
HR Manager
Lora Taan has over 10+ years of in debt knowledge within the aviation industry working with AHS Amman. After attaining her degree in environment from The Hashemite University she joined as a check in agent in 2012, where she gained her fundamental aviation and customer service expertise and then evolved to new challenges at the HR department where she was instrumental to set up the HR standards, processes, and procedures for Amman station. Then being promoted as the quality and environment supervisor she was responsible for the field level implementation of QHSE policies, procedures and guidelines inline Menzies standards. She actively undertook site inspections, QMS gap analysis audits and provided support to close the audit findings in a timely manner. Activities include risk identification and management, incident reporting and investigation, waste minimization, pollution prevention and control, various compliance activities and implementation of various aspects of management systems in all areas of QHSE are her specialty. Being qualified as an ISO 14001: 2015 internal auditor she had performed numerous audits to standardize station functions and also handled various external audits from airlines and authorities. She was also passionate about training and coaching staff and had delivered various training to Operations and Front of house staff in Jordan and Iraq and does possess an exceptional knowledge of the standards and procedures in these arenas. With all these holistic experiences she is our HR Manager and manages the HR functions for over 400+ staff in Iraq.
Mustafa Hamdi
Assistant Station Manager
Mustafa joined MASIL in October 2021 as Assistant Station Manager. Mustafa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology, Baghdad. He worked for 10+ years with Iraqi Airways within various departments. He started off his aviation career with GSE as Maintenance Supervisor which carried the responsibility of safe and effective operations of huge fleet of Iraqi Airways GSE. He then moved to ramp department as Ramp Supervisor where his operational knowledge got further enhanced. He was responsibile for safe & secure turnaround operations, manpower rosters and allocations amongst other things. Mustafa had a further opportunity to join the SGHA department wherein he was responsible for billing and collecting ground handling revenue from all airlines that were operating in and out of Baghdad International Airport. Mustafa then grew to the position of Deputy Ground Handling Manger and finally to the position of Ground Handling Manager which carried the ultimate responsibilities of all departments within Iraqi Airways Ground Handling. Mustafa plays a pivotal role within MASIL by collaborating with various stakeholders.
Wael Darwish
Finance Manager
Wael Darwish is the Finance Manager at MASIL. He is responsible for managing the finance department and ensuring the effective development and implementation of the policies and procedures across the organization. He is also responsible for the financial health and control of the company, and oversees all financial activities, including financial planning, financial reporting, and analysis of data to achieve the company’s strategic goals. Wael has more than 16 years of accounting and finance experience in various regions and industries. before joining MASIL, he was Finance Manager at AH, an accounting and consulting firm in Sweden. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Majid Al Futtaim Retail (Carrefour), a leading retail company based in Dubai, UAE, in various roles, most recently as Finance Manager Digital, responsible for a digital transformation project. Wael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a MicroMasters in Accounting and Financial Management. He also holds a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (DipIFRS) and a Certificate in Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) and Investment Foundations.
Rebin Aziz
Health Safety Quality and Compliance Manager
Rebin Aziz is an accomplished professional with over a decade of experience in the aviation and logistics industry. Currently the Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance Manager at MASIL, Rebin has held a variety of pivotal roles, including Quality Assurance Manager at Gulfmar Solutions (Azmar Airlines Group), Airside Operations Manager at KIK, and Rebin is also an ICAA-authorized Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) instructor and a Qatar Airways-authorized Cargo Warehouse Operations (CWO) trainer.Starting his career as a Check-in Agent at Azmar Air Handling, Rebin advanced through roles such as Warehouse Staff, Warehouse Supervisor, and Quality Assurance & Safety Manager. Under his leadership, Gulfmar Solutions was successfully registered under ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) in 2019, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to safety and compliance. Rebin’s expertise spans ground handling, Passenger handling, cargo operations, auditing, and regulatory compliance, with a proven ability to enhance performance and ensure adherence to industry standards. He holds numerous certifications, including ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Black Belt, and Safety Management System (SMS) credentials. His leadership, problem-solving skills, and dedication to operational excellence make him a valuable asset in any aviation or logistics environment.
Hafeez Carrim
Service Delivery Manager
Hafeez is a dynamic aviation professional with 36 years of experience. across renowned aviation companies. His diversified knowledge, ranging from Airport Operations, Strategic Planning, Project Management and Team Management has led to his extensive understanding of the industry trends with the distinction of instituting new practices to achieve business excellence. Currently, Hafeez is the Passenger Services Manager at Menzies Aviation in Iraq, and oversees a safe, secure, and customer-centric operations, fostering strong relationships with airlines, stakeholders, and authorities. Prior to joining Menzies Aviation Iraq in 2023, Hafeez worked with dnata (Emirates Group, Dubai, U.A.E) for 21 years. His various roles such as Ground Dispatcher, Standards & Procedures Controller, helped lay a foundation to assume leadership roles within the company. At the time of time of leaving dnata, he was the Airport Operations Department Manager at Dubai World Central (DWC), Al Maktoum International Airport. Where he was engaged in many milestone projects and assignments, including the opening of the Airport in the year 2010 and ISAGO & ISO certifications for the station. Hafeez’s career began with Sri Lankan Airlines as a Check-in Agent. After a short stint as Station Officer at Royal Jordanian Airlines, he spent the next 10 years with Oman Aviation, the ground handler at Muscat International Airport, where he honed his skills and knowledge in the areas of Passenger Services, Ramp Operations and Load Control while maintaining a focus on business excellence, compliance, and safety. Hafeez in his leadership roles, has led his teams to the next generation of business excellence by being a role model with regards to independent decision making, industry knowledge, professional relationship management, effective communication, and service delivery, while maintaining collaborative relationships with customers, authorities, and diverse stakeholders.
